Greene County Record Contacts

This is a private reference resource, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, retrieve official booking records, or change a public record. Contact the public office that controls the record for an official response.

Greene County Sheriff and Jail

The current Sheriff contact page is the best source for a live county jail or booking question. It identifies the Sheriff's main location at the same Coxsackie address as Greene County Jail and describes the office as open 24 hours. The public inmate search is separate from a formal records request.

Greene County Sheriff's Office
45 Haverly Memorial Drive
Coxsackie, NY 12051
Telephone: 518-943-3300
Current official contact email: sheriff@greenesheriffny.gov
Hours: the current official site describes the office as open 24 hours.

Older county material uses a different email suffix, so use the live official contact page to verify an address before sending a sensitive request.

Where to Direct a Greene County Question

Record type and custody stage determine which public office can help. The links below are routes to the agencies that maintain the underlying information, not promises that any item will be available.

  • For current county custody or a live profile, use the Greene County Sheriff inmate search and then the Sheriff contact route.
  • For a booking record or photo request, follow the county FOIL information and its written-request process.
  • For an arrest report, contact the agency that made the arrest, such as the relevant town or village police department.
  • For a court outcome, contact the court that handled the case. Greene County Court lists 518-625-3160 for Supreme and County Court.
  • For County Clerk criminal and Supreme/County Court material, the Clerk is at 411 Main Street, Suite 202, Catskill, NY 12414, 518-719-3255, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • For state correctional custody, use the official DOCCS locator. Federal and ICE custody have separate official locators.

Records and Civil Office Locations

The Sheriff resource map also lists a Civil Office at 411 Main Street in Catskill. It is a civil-process and public-facing location, not a second jail or a second booking roster. The Greene County Records Center at 465 Main Street in Catskill stores inactive county records but says it does not provide public access. A request for older material should first go to the department that created or maintains the record.

Use the County Clerk, the appropriate court clerk, or the Sheriff records route to identify the correct custodian before visiting an office.
